Microsoft: Our Instruments Are Compatible, Too

We already knew that Rock Band instruments will work with Guitar Hero World Tour on Xbox 360. Today, Microsoft further clarified the situation, saying that Guitar Hero World Tour, Rock Band 2, and Rock Revolution's instruments would all be cross-compatible on its platform.
The news was issued in response to Sony saying the same thing on Monday.
I'm wondering how Rock Revolution is going to use the Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero World Tour drums, seeing as how Konami's game has seven drum inputs -- more than either of the other two titles. Will they do what World Tour does, and scale back the complexity of the game patterns?
