China Southern Receives First A380

China Southern Airlines has taken delivery of its first Airbus A380. The Guangzhou-based airline becomes the seventh airline worldwide, and the first in China, to operate the A380, after its first superjumbo arrived at Beijing Capital International Airport on Saturday.

The new 506-seat A380 offers eight private cabins in First Class, 70 flatbed seats in Business Class and 428 seats in Economy. Saturday’s arrival, which is the first of five A380s ordered by China Southern, will serve the high-demand Beijing-Shanghai (Pudong) route from the end of October.
