Singapore Airlines Voted Best Airline Fourth Year Running

Singapore Airlines (SIA) was awarded the prestigious ‘Best Airline International On Line Award’ for the fourth consecutive year at the 2011 AFTA National Travel Industry Awards on Saturday night. The Award reinforces the Airline’s position as the world’s most awarded airline. Singapore Airlines Regional Vice President South West Pacific, Subhas Menon said the Airline continued to remain committed to the Australian market as Australia’s second largest carrier and to its promise of service excellence to its customers and the industry.

Singapore Airlines continued to strengthen its services in 2010/11, commencing flights to Haneda, Japan and confirming the addition of a new route to a sixth continent, Sao Paulo, Brazil in South America. In addition to this, the Airline also announced the forthcoming introduction of a new low-fare subsidiary airline which is due to service medium and long haul routes, and confirmed its commitment to the Australian market through a long term alliance with Virgin Australia.

The Best Airline International On Line Award is the latest in a line of prestigious accolades the Airline has been awarded over the course of the last year. These honours include the recently received Best Airline Service (Global) Award, which was presented to the Airline at the 2011 Australian Gourmet Traveller Travel Awards in June, and many were repeat awards for categories such as in-flight service and entertainment, food and beverage offerings, ground services, safety, premium services and corporate management.
